CrossFit Open Workout 16.2

Complete as many rounds and reps as possible in 4, 8, 12, 16 or 20 minutes of:
25 toes-to-bars
50 double-unders
15 squat cleans*

Begin with a 4 minute time cap. If 1 round is completed in under 4 minutes extend time to 8 minutes. If 2 rounds are completed in under 8 minutes extend time to 12 minutes. Etc., adding 4 minutes per round completed for up to 20 minutes.

*1st round, 15 reps at 135 / 85 lb.
2nd round, 13 reps, 185 / 115 lb.
3rd round, 11 reps, 225 / 145 lb.
4th round, 9 reps, 275 / 175 lb.
5th round, 7 reps, 315 / 205 lb.

    259 rx. My takeaways:

    1. Have a plan to stay ahead of the clock (time out what will work for you) and stick to it! 4 minutes goes by faster than you think.

    2. Toes to bar disappear fast. When you start to break, stay close to the bar and keep your rest very short.

    3. Limit transition times as much as possible. Every second is going to count when you’re on the cusp of making it into the next round.

    4. Double unders should be recovery.

    5. Don’t pace the cleans in the lighter rounds. Drop the bar each rep to save your grip but follow it down and keep moving. You’re going to need the extra time when it gets heavy.

    6. Lungs! Ouch. Felt like Grace. But 4 times as long.

    7. You can definitely clean 90% of your max for multiple reps if you focus and keep breathing.
